Mobile

Another shift in the technology cycle is upon us.

Within the last century, we've had the Mainframe era of the 50's and 60's, the mini-computer era of the 70's, the desktop era of the 80's, and the internet era.

The new era is internet mobile.  Internet traffic from mobile is on pace to quickly overtake fixed internet volume.

What does this mean to you and to us?  It's important to have strategy and tools to best take advantage of this trend.

We offer a few different approaches.

Mobile Websites

One approach is to build mobile applications as a planned extension of your desktop website. The viewing experience is obviously different on the two platforms, so there's design tweaks that can be made to improve the mobile experience. It can be set up so that if your website is hit from a mobile based browser, the site will render for that device.  If you site is hit from a desktop/laptop browser, it will render for that device.

There are several advantages to this approach:

1. The content need only be kept and maintained in one system.

2. You've worked hard to improve your online presence and search results. These will still apply on your mobile device, so you can take advantage from both traditional internet computers and mobile devices.

Mobile Apps

The other strategy would be to build "Apps" for devices such as the Android and iPhone platforms.

Depending on your brand, this can also be a good alternative, as you can have highly specialized interfaces and interactions built for you for these devices.

These apps would need to be downloaded from the provider's store, such as the Apple Store.  They can be free apps, done in a way to assist your branding efforts, or as paid apps for creation of additional revenue streams.

We are prepared to support both of the approaches outlined here, and look forward to discussing your specific needs.
