Phase 1 - Defining the Scope

Good plans shape good decisions.

In phase 1 we'll evaluate the feedback from the requirements discovery session. We'll then put together documentation that we can utilize to communicate our understanding of the project to you.

The complexity of the project will dictate the level of time and effort for this phase.

In most cases, we'll supply a functional requirements document, flow charts, and a few wireframes showing how we would lay out your website.  This documentation will give us a common ground for understanding. It will also act as a tool for review to document modifications that we may need to make.

This sounds a bit complex, but it will be provided in an easy to digest format.

Project size will determine if this documentation is more of a high level overview or a more detailed documentation process.

This phase will also include discussion about maintaining the site after it's launched.

How many times have you visited a site that is no longer relevant?  We don't want that to happen to you.

For example: Would like to have us do site updates, or have your own staff do those updates? What will need to be updated? How often and on what parts of your site? If we make these decisions together in the beginning, it will assist us in creating the best solution for your long term needs.

Once we are both happy with the plan, we'll get your sign off to move forward.  It's at this point that we will provide you with a secure link to our online project management tool. This is explained more in Phase 2.
